This act is sure to sell out, so make sure to purchase your tickets today. Clay Walker has been a country music mainstay since 1993, when his single “What’s it to You” reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. He followed that up just one year later with another number one hit in “Live Until I Die.” Both of these were featured on Clay’s self-titled debut album, which produced a third Number One hit with “Dreaming with My Eyes Open” in addition to several other chart-topping singles. His first album went on to sell over one million copies, earning it certified platinum status. Not bad for a first shot! Clay Walker was born in Beaumont, Texas and had an early affinity for music when he received his first guitar at just 9 years old. By age 15, he was submitting tapes of his original music to local radio stations when one DJ told him his music was “too good to pass up” despite the station’s strict policy of not playing self-submissions. By age 19, Walker was touring locally on a regular basis, finding a steady job as the house singer at a bar in Beaumont. He was discovered by record producer James Stroud at the young age of 23 and signed onto Giant Records shortly thereafter. Walker experienced major success with his first album and has never looked back. Walker’s sophomore album, “If I Could Make a Living” was released in 1994 and included two more Number One singles in “This Woman and This Man” and the title track. “If I Could Make a Living” went on to become Clay Walker’s second consecutive record to reach certified platinum status and peaked at number 2 on the country albums chart. Although his 1995 album “Hypnotize the Moon” did not produce any number one hits, it became his third straight platinum album, garnering critical acclaim from country music fans nationwide. Since releasing “Hypnotize the Moon,” Clay has gone on to produce 7 more original albums and 2 greatest hits albums, with another number one single in “Rumor Has It.” He has enjoyed a successful career as a country music artist with a strong fan base for over 2 and a half decades, which is no simple task! His accolades include 4 platinum albums and one gold album, as well as 6 number one hits in total. So, get your tickets today and come enjoy Clay Walker’s rugged country sound at JD Legends! You’ll be sure to hear all the hits and probably some tunes that you’ve never heard before! His last show at Legends brought the house down and he’s ready to do it again!
